Beautiful Quality Designs

The Process
Design
The design of your kitchen is something that is extremely important.  Every individual has their different likes and dislikes.   Many customers already have a designer or work with the cabinet company to do their custom design.  We work with many very fine cabinet companies and designers.  Others prefer to do it themselves.  We're always glad to help or recommend a good reputable company.

Lead Times
We work on a schedule.  Our motto is under promise and over deliver!  We can help keep your project on track and lessen your headaches in remodeling.  When we say "we'll be there baring a natural disaster we will be there".  A frustration of builders, home remodelers is the vendor not arriving on time or honoring their commitments.  We follow the lean manufacturing process to keep our cost as low as we can to make your beautiful natural stone project affordable.  But we do not sacrifice quality for price.  We would like to schedule your project in as soon as you know it's happening and we'll go from there checking with your contractor or cabinet maker on the progress and timing.  We have projects that are next day to 6 months away.  We try to work on your schedule.

Estimates
We will give you an estimate as soon as you know the size of your project.   Many times we give estimates to clients on a couple of different colors so they will know how a color or grade of granite will affect their pricing.  Estimates are usually same day!  Again, we try to focus on customer service and satisfaction.  Estimates are sometimes delayed when we are waiting on specific information for your project. Turn around time is as soon as possible.

Picking your color
We keep many standard colors in stock and have several slabs for you to look at.  If there is a color that you want not in stock we can usually get it in less than a week.  Remember, granite and marble are natural stones, therefore each slab and lot of slabs may differ, so we like for you to view your slab prior to fabrication.

Templating
For new kitchens, vanities, etc. this is usually easier than for remodeling projects. Your project is ready to template when all the necessary appliances including cooktops, down drafts, stove, sinks, faucets, soap dispenser, or any other pertinent items are on site. Any item that requires a cut in the stone will be needed for the template. Cabinets must be permanently set and leveled prior to the templating team arriving. Additional trips cost us all money so if your not sure of your site readiness, please call.

Pricing
We have priced your project based on measurements that have been provided.  If field measurements are different, will adjust accordingly.

Will my countertop have a seam?
Slab sizes average 98" to 115" long by 55" to 68" tall.  We try to avoid seams if possible but wen there is a need for a seam depending on layout, size of slab or support needed we make every effort to minimize it's size and visibility.  Many fabricators cutting granite by hand will not have the proper tools to make the seam less visible therefore the seams are ugly and very visible.  This is something you want to avoid an always a good question to ask.  Granite Outlet seams are cut by a laser machine and put together in the shop to make sure the seam will be minimal.

Removal of old tops
Installation of new granite countertops usually does not include removal of old tops.  We can remove and dispose of your old tops but that would have to be noted and priced during your estimate.  In the event we have to remove your old top to install the new one we prefer to disrupt your household for the minimal amount of time.  Many times we can take the old one out early morning and install your new top that afternoon.  In almost all cases we try to do it within 24 hours.  Although, one lady wanted us to take it out two weeks in advance so her husband would have to take her out to dinner for two weeks! Happy customers are our goal! :)

Plumbing & Wiring
These services are not preformed by Granite Outlet installers.  You will need a plumber to reconnect sinks or cooktops.  Although we try to avoid it sometimes it is necessary to make cut outs on the job site.  When that is the case, dust is to be expected.  We try to minimize the dust as much as possible.

Installation
We ask that the homeowner or contractor is present during the entire installation process.   All appliances MUST be present and in place.  We are not responsible for moving of appliances, furniture or personal items stored in the cabinets.

Tip
Final wall preparation (painting, wallpaper, tile, backsplash) should NOT be completed prior to installation if at all possible.  Care will be exercised during the countertop installation, however scrapes, punctures or small holes are possible.  Please install your countertop first so your tile person or painter  can fix any of these small repairs.

Approval and Clean Up
After your new project has been installed we ask you to sign an approval installation sheet confirming your satisfaction and quality of the project defect free and pay the balance of your project.  Granite Outlet will not be responsible for any other contractors damaging your new countertops after that point.  Therefore, we recommend if you still have construction going on in your home to cover and protect your new natural stone. The Granite Outlet team will clean up their area and try to get as much dust as possible.   You may want to cover areas to contain the dust to the construction area.
