How do I know when my stone needs to be sealed?
A simple way to tell is to drop water on the area. If it does not pool and is instantly absorbed, sealing is suggested.
What is the difference between 2cm and 3cm?
The 2cm thick stone is approximately 3/4" thick. The 3cm is approximately 1 3/16" thick. We recommend using the 3cm for the kitchen countertops for both aesthetic reasons and structural reasons.
What type of sink do I use?
You can use either a drop in (ridge sits on top of granite) or an under mount sink. An under mount sink is fastened from the underneath of the granite. The rim of the sink does not show and the granite will be polished and will appear to be the rim of the sink. Most people use the under mount sink so the beauty of the granite can be shown.
Can I use marble as a kitchen countertop?
You can, but we don't recommend it because it is a more porous stone. Marble is more prone to staining and scratching. If you do go with marble it is highly suggested to get the stone sealed regularly.
Are you ready?
